Melancholic depression - Melancholic Depression, or 'depression with melancholic features' is a subtype of depression characterized by the inability to find pleasure in positive things combined with physical agitation, insomnia, or decreased appetite. Roughly 10% of people with depression suffer from Melancholic Depression.
Long Depression - The Long Depression (1873-1896) was a depression that affected much of the world from the early 1870s until the mid-1890s, contemporary of the Second Industrial Revolution. Atypical depression - Atypical Depression (AD) is a subtype of Major Depression characterized by mood reactivity — being able to experience improved mood in response to positive events. In contrast, sufferers of "melancholic" depression generally cannot experience positive moods, even when good things happen.
